The Tactical Nation New Athlete Guide: Shooting Accuracy Goals per Division

SHOOTING SKILL REQUIRES AS MUCH WORK AS BUILDING YOUR FITNESS.

Being accurate whilst under duress, both physically, mentally and under the clock, is the key to any situation and this is what The Tactical Challenge is about.

Below we have listed what we suggest should be the goal of the athletes entering into each division.

Course of Fire

The firearm portion of each stage will include either a combination of handgun and rifle or will be rifle or handgun only challenges.

INTERMEDIATE DIVISION (MEN & WOMEN)

VETERANS 40+

Intermediate level for both men and women is about being safe and competent with your firearm in moments of duress and that is what we suggest you should train for and then move onto become more accurate as your confidence increases.

Aim for a 65% accuracy in the A Zone with your hand gun at 15 metres and 65% accuracy in the C Zone at 150m with your Rifle.

Sounds too easy?

Trust us, when your heart is going at 160BPM, you are actually sweating bullets, your hands are wet, your lungs are burning, this is as close to real life situations you will get.

YOU WILL IMPROVE

This is about challenging your skills in a safe and friendly environment.

MENS WARRIOR DIVISION

We not going to be easy on you. The next level up is the Elites. The Warrior Division we suggest consistency and speed in keeping 75% accuracy in the A Zone with your hand gun at 15 metres and 75% accuracy in the C Zone at 200m with your Rifle.

TRAINING RECOMMENDATIONS

Practice shooting both weapons systems from prone, standing, kneeling and on your back.

Practice shooting on uneven barriers and awkward positions.

The distances mentioned above ARE NOT the smallest targets or furthest distances that will be shot, however will offer a decent guideline on your ability to perform from reasonable shooting positions.
