The Weekly Dog Walk - The Tactical Nation Journey
Share
It has been a while since we did A Weekly Dog Walk Blog Post as literally we have been so head down that we have had to write about our brands, our events and our awesome partners that it took a little back seat!
We are TWO MONTHS away from our first event and so today we wanted to tell a story that documents our experience and hopefully it will encourage someone who is looking for that motivation to succeed or take that last step to greatness!
TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE UNTIL THE TRUTH IS TRUE
The Tactical Nation is a culmination of two years of planning, there is no getting away from the amount of work it has taken to get this launched.
Bear in mind that we have been kicked many times over the last 5 months since we launched, including a cowardly "media partner" who tried to tarnish our brand but only landed up costing themselves 18 new advertisers because that is how many brands now sit in the stable of The Tactical Nation. Exclusively.
Back to our journey...
In late February we were approached by an optics brand who wanted to get involved in our events. We do not just send a generic proposal, we sit down, we plan out what we can do to elevate a brand through our events and what we believe would make the brand feel like they part of The Tactical Nation family. It's a well developed plan unique to the brand who approached us.
So we sent off our presentation that included visuals and branding painstakingly placed so this client could get a full visual.
Bear in mind, The Tactical Nation has NOT asked any brand or company for a single cent in monetary sponsorship. Every proposal has been about prizes for our athletes. Where a monetary amount has been included it has been a cost for branding materials like banners, flags etc. IF the brand wanted us to do it or they could just supply it.
We are proud of that. As we should be. It has always been about the athletes first. Every single step of the way.
No Digression is tough in this office....let's continue:
Do you think that brand had the decency to just acknowledge our marketing teams efforts?
Do you think they even had the courtesy to just call and tell us get lost?
Well you know the answer or we would not be speaking about it. What we did find out was they were buzzing around saying:
It's Too Good to be true.
Sure, until the Truth becomes true!
Pictured above is The Tactical Nation HQ in the Western Cape currently having it's structure completed before the roof goes on.
Our message today to that entrepreneur, that risk taker, that person who just needs a message to take that next step:
When someone says to you: "It sounds too good to be true" YOU have two choices:
1. Take it to heart, get yourself down and give up.
OR
2. Smile, realise it's only too good to be true to them because their vision is limited, turn around, and work bloody harder.
The day you succeed they will come back and ask to be part of the journey. You don't laugh, you don't be arrogant, you welcome them back, charge them triple, turn around, smile and get back to bloody work!
In other words, fuck the haters, get back to work. Hard
Get Fit, Get Healthy and Get Safe!
